If you are playing a Civilian

Your first priority is not “find the one exit.” The match is designed around changing items and possible escape routes, so start by reading the environment.

  1. Find resident NPCs and warn them.
  2. Search containers and points of interest instead of sprinting blindly across the map.
  3. Use phones and successful NPC conversations to build police response.
  4. Treat loud escape activation as a commitment — it can reveal your position to Michael.
  5. Learn major landmarks first; exact loot routes can change.

See the multiplayer loop for how police, death roles, and detention fit together.

Landmark knowledge should transfer between matches even when individual items or escape options move.

If you are playing Michael

  1. Use Killer Sense to find activity before committing to a chase.
  2. Build Stalk and keep track of Special Targets.
  3. Break line of sight before entering Shape Jump under normal conditions.
  4. Manipulate light: darkness makes your traversal toolkit more reliable.
  5. Remember that wounded or dead players can still change the match through police, Sheriff’s Deputies and Loomis.

The Michael abilities page covers Killer Sense, Shape Jump, and the revealed special abilities.

Learn the maps as landmark networks

Before launch, the useful map knowledge is structural: East Haddonfield is rural/industrial, Haddonfield Heights is residential, Orange Grove Estates has larger multi-story houses, and Town Center is the commercial/civic district. Exact spawn maps will be added only after the retail build can be checked.

Open the map hub for the four confirmed districts.
